Job overview
Quitting tobacco is hard, and steady support makes a difference. As a Remote Tobacco Cessation Coach you will help participants build a personal quit plan, prepare for their quit date, manage cravings and triggers, recover from slips and celebrate milestones, using a warm, non-judgmental approach.
No prior tobacco cessation coaching experience is needed. Paid training covers cessation coaching methods, motivational interviewing, quitline protocols, coaching platforms and HIPAA basics. The specific program, participants and scope depend on the team you join.
This opportunity may suit people searching for tobacco cessation coach jobs, remote quitline coach jobs, work-from-home smoking cessation jobs, or no experience healthcare coaching jobs.
No Experience Required: We'll Train You
No prior tobacco cessation coaching experience is required, and a certification is not required for some roles. Employers provide paid training on cessation coaching, motivational interviewing, quitline protocols and HIPAA, and you learn the work step by step. Some employers may prefer CTTS or similar nicotine dependence training, so confirm in your interview.
Structured Remote Work with Predictable Hours
Coaching runs on scheduled participant calls and follow-ups, usually weekday daytime, with some quitlines covering evening and weekend hours. Both full-time and part-time positions are offered, with no in-person requirements. Discuss your preferred schedule in your interview.
Non-clinical coaching role, scope of practice and privacy first
Tobacco Cessation Coaches do not diagnose, treat, prescribe or give clinical advice. Clinical concerns, medical questions and situations that need clinical judgment are escalated to clinical teams per the employer's protocol. Questions about cessation medication or health concerns go to clinical teams. You will handle names, contact details and health-related information, so employers train you on HIPAA awareness and expect strict confidentiality.
