Job overview

Virtual visits only work when patients and providers can connect. As a Remote Telehealth Tech Support Specialist you will help people get onto the platform, diagnose video and audio problems, resolve connectivity issues, support provider workflows and escalate complex platform problems, so visits start on time.

No license and no prior healthcare or telehealth experience is needed. Paid training covers telehealth platforms, video and audio troubleshooting, provider workflows, ticket systems, escalation protocols and HIPAA basics. The specific organization, platform and scope depend on the team you join.

This opportunity may suit people searching for telehealth tech support jobs, remote telehealth support specialist jobs, work-from-home telehealth tech jobs, or no experience healthcare jobs.

No Experience Required: We'll Train You

No prior healthcare or telehealth experience, license or certification is required. Employers provide paid training on telehealth platforms, troubleshooting, ticket systems and HIPAA. Many specialists come from help desk, IT support or tech support roles. Some employers may prefer IT certifications such as CompTIA A+ or HDI, so confirm in your interview.

Structured Remote Work with Predictable Hours

Remote telehealth tech support runs on scheduled support hours and ticket queues, usually weekday daytime, with some programs adding early morning, evening or weekend coverage to match clinic hours. The work is ticket- and video-based. Both full-time and part-time positions are offered. Discuss your preferred schedule in your interview.

Non-clinical role, privacy and security first

You do not diagnose, treat, prescribe or give clinical advice, and you do not change platform security settings outside your scope. Privacy, security and clinical questions are escalated per the employer's protocol. You may see patient names, appointment details and login information, so employers train you on HIPAA awareness and expect strict confidentiality.

What you'll do

  • Receive and triage support tickets by urgency and type (patient or provider)
  • Diagnose platform, video, audio and connectivity issues
  • Join live video visits to resolve problems so the visit can proceed
  • Help patients access visits and fix login and device issues
  • Help providers log in and use their telehealth workflows
  • Support EHR-to-platform integration issues
  • Escalate complex or systemic issues to vendors and IT teams per protocol
  • Document each ticket clearly and follow up to resolution
  • Track ticket volume, resolution time and satisfaction
  • Contribute to FAQs and the support knowledge base
