Job overview
Patients get the care they need faster when authorizations are handled well. As a Remote Prior Authorization Assistant you will prepare and submit prior authorization requests to payers, collect clinical documentation, track status, follow up on pending requests and record authorizations accurately.
No prior healthcare experience is needed. Paid training covers payer requirements, PA workflows, clinical criteria basics, payer portals and HIPAA. Specialties and scope depend on the team you join.
This opportunity may suit people searching for prior authorization assistant jobs, remote prior auth jobs, work-from-home prior authorization jobs, or no experience healthcare jobs.
No Experience Required: We'll Train You
No prior healthcare experience is required. Employers provide paid training on payer requirements, PA workflows, payer portals, documentation and HIPAA, and you learn the work step by step. Many assistants come from insurance, billing, medical office or phone-based coordination roles.
Structured Remote Work with Predictable Hours
Prior authorization runs on PA queues and payer business hours, usually weekday daytime, with no on-call and no in-person requirements. Both full-time and part-time positions are offered. Discuss your preferred schedule in your interview.
Non-clinical role, privacy first
This is an administrative role. You support clinical criteria review with clinical staff but you do not make clinical decisions. Clinical criteria questions and situations affecting patient care are escalated per the employer's protocol. You will handle names, dates of birth, member IDs, diagnoses, treatment plans and clinical notes, so employers train you on HIPAA awareness and expect strict confidentiality.
