Job overview
When something isn't working, patients need a helping hand. As a Remote Patient Support Specialist you will troubleshoot portal, app and account problems, help patients set up video visits, reset passwords and find appointments and documents, and route clinical questions to the right team.
No prior healthcare or patient support experience is needed. Paid training covers patient portals, support ticketing, troubleshooting and HIPAA basics. Platforms and scope depend on the team you join.
This opportunity may suit people searching for patient support specialist jobs, remote patient support jobs, work-from-home patient portal support jobs, or no experience healthcare jobs.
No Experience Required: We'll Train You
No prior healthcare or patient support experience is required. Employers provide paid training on portal and app support, video visit setup, ticketing and HIPAA, and you learn the work step by step. Many specialists come from tech support, call center, retail, hospitality or customer service roles.
Structured Remote Work with Predictable Hours
Patient support runs on scheduled support queues, usually weekday daytime, with no on-call and no in-person requirements. Both full-time and part-time positions are offered. Discuss your preferred schedule in your interview.
Non-clinical role, privacy and security first
This is a technical and service support role. You do not give clinical advice, and clinical questions are routed to the appropriate team. Verify identity before helping with account access, and escalate unresolved issues per protocol. You will handle names, contact details and account information, so employers train you on HIPAA awareness and expect strict confidentiality.

- Help patients log in and navigate the patient portal
- Help patients install, log in and use the mobile app

- Help patients fix account and profile problems and basic device and network issues
- Help patients send and receive secure messages, find and manage appointments and find documents and results
