Job overview

Remote patient monitoring only works when devices are set up, connected and transmitting. As a Remote Patient Monitoring Support Specialist you will help patients set up their devices, troubleshoot device and transmission issues, verify readings and flag alerts for clinical review, so patients stay connected to their care teams.

No license and no prior healthcare or RPM experience is needed. Paid training covers RPM devices (such as blood pressure cuffs, glucometers, pulse oximeters and scales), RPM platforms, reading verification, alert triage and HIPAA basics. The specific organization, program and scope depend on the team you join.

This opportunity may suit people searching for patient monitoring support jobs, remote RPM support specialist jobs, work-from-home RPM jobs, or no experience healthcare jobs.

No Experience Required: We'll Train You

No prior healthcare or RPM experience, license or certification is required. Employers provide paid training on RPM devices, platforms, transmission troubleshooting, reading verification, alert triage and HIPAA, and you learn the workflow step by step. Many specialists come from patient support, help desk, medical office or health tech roles. Some employers may prefer device or RPM certifications, so confirm in your interview.

Structured Remote Work with Predictable Hours

Remote RPM support runs on scheduled support hours and monitoring queues, usually weekday daytime, with some programs covering early morning, evening or weekend hours. Both full-time and part-time positions are offered. There are no clinical duties and no in-person office requirements. Discuss your preferred schedule in your interview.

Non-clinical role, privacy first

You do not diagnose, treat, prescribe, give clinical advice or interpret clinical readings. Unusual readings and critical alerts are escalated to clinical teams per the employer's protocol. You will handle patient information and device data, so employers train you on HIPAA awareness and expect strict confidentiality.

What you'll do

  • Help patients set up their RPM devices at home
  • Troubleshoot device, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity issues
  • Troubleshoot data transmission from device to platform
  • Verify that readings are accurate and complete, and flag missing or unusual data
  • Flag readings that meet alert criteria for clinical review
  • Escalate critical alerts to clinical teams per protocol
  • Teach patients to use their devices and remind them to take and transmit readings
  • Reach out to patients who have stopped transmitting
  • Coordinate with nurses, care teams and platform vendors
  • Document each support contact accurately in RPM systems
