Job overview
Records are only useful when they are organized and easy to find. As a Remote Medical Records Clerk you will process records into the EHR, scan and index documents, file them to the correct chart, retrieve records for teams that need them and check records for accuracy.
No prior healthcare, medical records or file management experience is needed. Paid training covers records workflows, EHR and document systems and HIPAA basics. Record types and scope depend on the team you join.
This opportunity may suit people searching for medical records clerk jobs, remote medical records jobs, work-from-home medical records clerk jobs, or no experience healthcare jobs.
No Experience Required: We'll Train You
No prior healthcare, medical records or file management experience is required. Employers provide paid training on records workflows, indexing, retention policies, document systems and HIPAA, and you learn the work step by step. Many clerks come from administrative, clerical or data entry roles.
Structured Remote Work with Predictable Hours
Records work runs on records queues and turnaround targets, usually weekday daytime, with no on-call and no in-person requirements. Both full-time and part-time positions are offered. Discuss your preferred schedule in your interview.
Administrative records role, privacy first
This is an administrative role. It does not involve clinical decisions. Record discrepancies and issues affecting patient records are escalated per the employer's protocol.
