Job overview
Many patients prefer to ask questions in writing. As a Remote Healthcare Chat Support Specialist you will answer live chat and text inquiries in real time, help with appointments, accounts and patient portal questions, resolve non-clinical issues and route clinical questions to the right team.
No prior healthcare or chat support experience is needed. Paid training covers chat workflows, written empathy, chat and portal systems and HIPAA basics. Platform and scope depend on the team you join.
This opportunity may suit people searching for healthcare chat support jobs, remote healthcare chat jobs, work-from-home chat support jobs, or no experience healthcare jobs.
No Experience Required: We'll Train You
No prior healthcare or chat support experience is required. Employers provide paid training on chat platforms, writing for patients, escalation and HIPAA, and you learn the work step by step. Strong typing speed and accuracy help. Many specialists come from chat support, customer service, retail or writing roles.
Structured Remote Work with Predictable Hours
Chat support runs on scheduled chat queues, usually weekday daytime, with no on-call and no in-person requirements. Both full-time and part-time positions are offered. Discuss your preferred schedule in your interview.
Non-clinical role, privacy first
Clinical questions are routed to the appropriate clinical team per the employer's protocol, and you do not give medical advice. Complex chats are escalated to the right team. You will handle names, contact details, account information and health information shared in chat, so employers train you on HIPAA awareness and expect strict confidentiality.
