Job overview
Members want to know exactly what their plan covers. As a Remote Health Plan Support Representative you will interpret benefits, explain covered services and exclusions, verify eligibility and coverage, and answer network, pharmacy benefit and prior authorization questions in plain language.
No prior healthcare, insurance or health plan experience is needed. Paid training covers plan types, benefits terminology, health plan systems and HIPAA basics. The specific plan, member population and scope depend on the team you join.
This opportunity may suit people searching for health plan support representative jobs, remote health plan customer service jobs, work-from-home benefits support jobs, or no experience healthcare jobs.
No Experience Required: We'll Train You
No prior healthcare, insurance or health plan experience is required. Employers provide paid training on benefits, coverage, networks, health plan CRM systems, call handling and HIPAA, and you learn the work step by step. Many representatives come from customer service, call center, banking or insurance roles.
Structured Remote Work with Predictable Hours
Health plan support runs on scheduled phone, chat and email queues, usually weekday daytime, with no on-call and no in-person requirements. Both full-time and part-time positions are offered. Discuss your preferred schedule in your interview.
Non-clinical role, member privacy first
This is an administrative role. It does not involve clinical decisions. Clinical questions are routed to the appropriate team per the employer's protocol, and issues needing supervisor input are escalated. You will handle member names, contact details, enrollment and coverage information, so employers train you on HIPAA awareness and expect strict confidentiality.
