Job overview
Lifestyle changes can lower the risk of type 2 diabetes. As a Remote Diabetes Prevention Coach you will deliver lifestyle change coaching within the CDC National Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) framework, helping adults with prediabetes or at risk build sustainable nutrition and physical activity habits.
No prior diabetes prevention coaching experience is needed. Paid training covers the CDC DPP curriculum, behavior-change coaching, group facilitation, program systems and HIPAA basics. The specific program, participants and scope depend on the team you join.
This opportunity may suit people searching for diabetes prevention coach jobs, remote lifestyle coach jobs, work-from-home DPP coach jobs, or no experience healthcare coaching jobs.
No Experience Required: We'll Train You
No prior diabetes prevention coaching experience is required, and a certification is not required for some roles. Employers provide paid training on the CDC DPP curriculum, lifestyle change coaching, group facilitation and HIPAA, and you learn the work step by step. Some employers may prefer DPP Lifestyle Coach training or a health coaching certification, so confirm in your interview.
Structured Remote Work with Predictable Hours
Sessions follow the program calendar, including the 16-week core program and monthly maintenance sessions, usually weekday daytime, with some programs adding evening sessions to match participant availability. Both full-time and part-time positions are offered, with no in-person requirements. Discuss your preferred schedule in your interview.
Non-clinical coaching role, scope of practice and privacy first
Diabetes Prevention Coaches do not diagnose, treat, prescribe or give clinical advice. Clinical concerns, medical questions and situations that need clinical judgment are escalated to clinical teams per the employer's protocol. You will handle weight and activity data and prediabetes status. You will handle names, contact details and health-related information, so employers train you on HIPAA awareness and expect strict confidentiality.
