Job overview
Providers can only bill and treat patients once credentialing is complete. As a Remote Credentialing Assistant you will collect and verify provider credentials, submit applications to payers, track status, manage expirables and keep credentialing files accurate and compliant.
No prior healthcare experience is needed. Paid training covers credentialing workflows, primary source verification, payer enrollment, CAQH and HIPAA basics. Provider types and scope depend on the team you join.
This opportunity may suit people searching for credentialing assistant jobs, remote provider credentialing jobs, work-from-home credentialing jobs, or no experience healthcare jobs.
No Experience Required: We'll Train You
No prior healthcare experience is required. Employers provide paid training on credentialing workflows, primary source verification, payer applications, CAQH and privacy, and you learn the work step by step. Many assistants come from administrative, medical office, compliance or documentation roles.
Structured Remote Work with Predictable Hours
Credentialing runs on application queues, payer timelines and expirable deadlines, usually weekday daytime, with no on-call and no in-person requirements. Both full-time and part-time positions are offered. Discuss your preferred schedule in your interview.
Administrative role, provider privacy first
This is an administrative and compliance support role. It does not involve clinical decisions. You will handle provider personal information such as dates of birth, Social Security numbers, NPI numbers, licenses, education records and malpractice history, so employers train you on HIPAA, payer confidentiality requirements and expect strict confidentiality.

- Collect credentialing documentation from providers and their offices
- Verify state licenses, board certifications, DEA registrations, malpractice coverage, education, training and work history through primary source verification
- Submit and complete credentialing applications for Medicare, Medicaid and commercial payers
- Update and maintain CAQH provider profiles and support NPPES and NPI updates
- Track applications through approval and follow up with payers on pending applications
- Track licenses, certifications and other expirables
- Keep credentialing files complete and current

- Support recredentialing cycles and internal and payer audits
- Document credentialing activity accurately in credentialing systems
